Welcome to Chessodoro! These Chessodoro General Terms and Conditions of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website, products, and services (“Services”).
By using Chessodoro chess training platform, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, please do not use our Services.

1. General Terms

1.1. Introduction and Parties These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the services provided by Chesodoro (“Platform”, “Company”, “we”, “us”, “our”) to our users (“User”, “Subscriber”) and coaches (“Coaches”).

General terms and conditions apply to all three parties.

By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must immediately cease using our Services.

1.2 Definitions

  • “Terms”: includes these General Terms and Conditions of Services, including all Appendixes and other relevant terms for using Chessodoro platform, including Privacy Policy.
  • “Platform”: includes the https://chessodoro.com website and its domain where the coaching services are provided.
  • “Users”: subscribers and visitors of the Platform.
  • “Coaches”: chess players and instructors providing services to the Users using the Platform.
  • “Account”: means the user profile required to access the Services, created by registering at https://chessodoro.com .
  • “Content”: coach and platform created content, including game review text and videos, monthly training plans, messages and other materials created and/or shared on the Platform.
  • “Services”: access to Chessodoro platform, including 1 monthly Coach created training plan, available monthly game reviews and direct communication between coaches and users as well as other platform features.
  • “Subscription”: means your enrollment and agreement to pay fees for ongoing access to the Services.
  • “Subscription Plan”: means the specific plan level you subscribe to (Monthly or Yearly).

1.3. Scope of the Terms We may update these Terms occasionally. If changes are material, we will notify users via the website or email.

Continued use of Chessodoro after updates means you accept the revised Terms.

2. User Eligibility and Accounts

2.1. Eligibility Must be at least 13 years old or under parent or guardian supervision By using our Services, you confirm that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

2.2 Account Security You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Account credentials and for all activities conducted under your Account.

2.3 Termination We may suspend/terminate Accounts for violations without prior notice.

2.4. Restrictions The Platform and the Services is solely for your personal and non-commercial use. Unless otherwise expressly authorized in writing by Chessodoro, you agree not to display, distribute, license, perform, publish, reproduce, duplicate, copy, create derivative works from, modify, sell, resell, exploit, transfer or upload for any commercial purposes, any portion of the Services, use of the Services, or access to the Services.

Users and Coaches shall not permit any third party to:

  • Copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer the Services.
  • Use the Services for any illegal, fraudulent, or unauthorized purpose.
  • Upload, generate, or distribute content that violates any applicable law or third-party rights.
  • Upload, generate, or distribute sexually explicit or pornographic content.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services or related systems.
  • Resell, sublicense, or otherwise make the Services available to third parties without prior written consent.

3. General Services and Delivery

3.1. Upon subscribing, you will receive:

  • A personalized monthly chess training plan.
  • 3 personal game analysis performed by your coach.
  • Analysis and feedback based on your submitted games and goals.
  • Access to progress tracking and direct coach communication.

Delivery is typically made via your Chessodoro account and email within a reasonable time after you submit the required information.

3.2. Access to the Platform

Users can access the Platform to:

  • Browse and discover available Coaches.
  • Book coaching services (purchasing Chessodoro subscription, or additional 1:1 lessons within the Platform).
  • Communicate with assigned coaches through Platform messaging.
  • Access coaching materials, plans, videos, reviews and other material provided by coaches.
  • Track progress and view coaching schedules.

3.3. Payments

For Users:

  • All payments for coaching services are processed through Chessodoro.
  • Users pay Chessodoro, not individual coaches.
  • Payment methods: Credit cards, PayPal, Stripe, and other processors.

For Coaches:

  • All payments for coaching services are processed through Chessodoro.
  • We remunerate Coaches for their Services on the Platform.
  • Full terms and conditions for remuneration to coaches are shared in a separate Appendix. Contact info@chessodoro.com for more information on becoming a coach.

3.4. User Conduct and Community Standards

Users must:

  • Be respectful to Coaches.
  • Follow general community guidelines.

Users must NOT:

  • Harass, threaten, or abuse Coaches or other users.
  • Spam Coaches with unwanted messages.
  • Share Coach videos/lesson plans on social media or publicly.
  • Use Coach content for commercial purposes or to “bad mouth” Coaches or the Platform.
  • Engage in illegal activity or violate Platform rules.

3.5. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, honest information when subscribing and requesting a personalized plan.
  • Use the training plan for your personal, non-commercial improvement.
  • Respect the intellectual property rights of Chessodoro and our coaches.

You may not copy, resell, or publicly distribute Chessodoro’s materials without written permission.

These violations may result in immediate account suspension or termination.

4. Payment and Refund Policy

4.1. General payment and refund terms

  • All payments are billed on a subscription basis (monthly, quarterly, or yearly) and are charged automatically according to the plan you select. Pricing is displayed at checkout before purchase.
  • 7-Day Guarantee (first purchase only): If you are not satisfied, you may request a full refund within 7 days of your initial payment.
  • After 7 days: Refunds are not available, except in cases of billing error.
  • Personalized content: If you submit a game for review and receive a personal game review video from a coach, your subscription becomes non-refundable, even within the 7-day period.
  • Renewals: Subscription renewals are non-refundable. You may cancel at any time to prevent future charges, but fees already paid for the current billing period will not be refunded.

5. Content and Intellectual Property

5.1. All content provided by Chessodoro (videos, training plans, analyses, game reviews, progress tracking tools, and website materials) is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.

5.2. User-Generated Content

User-generated content includes:

  • Messages to coaches.
  • Reviews and ratings.
  • Profile information.
  • Uploaded files (if any).
  • Any other content you post on the Platform.

Your Rights and Responsibilities:

  • You own your User-Generated Content.

You grant Chessodoro a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to:

  • Use, display, modify, and distribute your user generated content.
  • Use reviews for marketing and coach rankings.
  • Use content to improve Platform algorithms.
  • Publish anonymized reviews publicly.

You agree your content will NOT:

  • Violate laws or Platform rules.
  • Harass, defame, or abuse coaches or others.
  • Contain spam, malware, or illegal material.
  • Infringe copyrights or trademarks.

Chessodoro’s Rights:

  • We can review, moderate, or remove any User-Generated Content at our discretion.
  • We can use your reviews in marketing (anonymized or attributed).
  • We can suspend accounts for abusive or inappropriate content.
  • No obligation to monitor content in real-time.

5.3. Restrictions on Use of Coach Content

  • No unauthorized sharing of coach-created plans and videos.
  • Prohibition on commercial use of coach content by users.
  • Prohibition on using coach content to harass, bad-mouth, or expose coaches.

Users may use their training plans for their own improvement, but not for commercial purposes or public distribution.

6. Disclaimers

6.1. General disclaimers:

  • Chess improvement is a personal journey.
  • We cannot guarantee rating increases, tournament results, or any particular outcomes.
  • Chessodoro is intended as an educational tool, and success depends on your own efforts.

6.2. “AS IS” basis. The services are provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

6.3. No Guarantee. We do not guarantee the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free.

7. Limitation of Liability

7.1. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chessodoro will not be liable for:

  • Indirect or incidental damages.
  • Lost opportunities, lost ratings, or unrealized goals.
  • Any content inaccuracies or external links provided in plans.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service.
